Contact cement is coated on two surfaces and allowed to dry. It then forms an instant permanent bond when the parts are brought into firm contact. Common uses: decorative laminates to cores, and wood, leather, and metal. Cattie does not list a separate contact-cement SKU on the product pages. How it works
Coat thick enough that, when solvent-free or water-free, a tacky film remains. Bond when a finger pulls away clean with no legginess. After that you typically have about an hour of open time. Use a “J” roller or pinch roller. You do not get a second chance at alignment once the faces meet.
Application
Brush, roller, notched trowel, air or airless spray (hot or cold), or curtain coater. Drying: air, fans, infrared, or a heated tunnel. Lower temperature and higher humidity slow dry. Spray grades are low viscosity; brush grades are higher so they do not soak into porous cores.
