Packaging Adhesives
Case, tray, carton, bags, labels — freezer to high-heat. Tell us the line speed and stock.
If you seal cases, cartons, or labels
Paperboard and packaging is the largest use of our hot melts and water-based adhesives. We size the grade to the substrate and the applicator: wheel, extrusion, or jet. Tell us the board, the coat, and the line speed.
Substrates we routinely bond: UV, clay-coated and SBS papers, films, foils, plastics, corrugated, and coated board.
For food and beverage packaging, adhesives can be formulated to FDA 21 CFR 175.105 (indirect food additives). Confirm the grade before you run it.

Case, tray, and carton sealing
Hot melt adhesives for case, tray, and carton sealing on corrugated and paperboard. Freezer / deep-freeze grades hold to −60°F. Low-temperature hot melts apply at about 250°F instead of typical higher melt-tank setpoints.
Start with the chemistries plants actually run: EVA, metallocene, and APAO. See hot melt adhesive.
Water-based grades cover glue-lap and related carton bonds when a melt tank is not the right fit. See water-based adhesive.
Folding cartons
Folding-carton work from this line includes barrier, film lamination, heat seal, and window patching.
Example stock water-based grades already documented on the product pages:
| Product number | Use |
|---|---|
| 8272 | Folding carton; coated stock including UV; FDA indirect food contact |
| 8275 | Resin/dextrin laminating; FDA indirect food contact |
| 8281 | Glue lap or laminating |
Heat-seal coatings for carton structures: heat seal adhesives. Moisture and grease holdout on board: barrier coatings.
Bags and sacks
Multi-wall bags — lamination, pinch bottom, zipper. Sacks and handles. Related board uses include anti-slip, honeycomb, lay-flat litho, and cups.
Tin-tie tape for coffee bags and package reclosure constructions sit with tapes and films.
Labeling and container labeling
Container labeling and related converting use water-based and pressure-sensitive chemistries matched to the face stock and the applicator. Send the label stock, the container surface, and whether the line needs permanent or removable performance.
Example product number on the water-based page: 8241 — water-based acrylic PSA; high tack; tapes, labels, films.
Brewery packaging and bottle labeling
Brewery packaging and bottle labeling are covered on this packaging page (not a separate application URL). Water-based chemistries we manufacture include casein and dextrin/starch systems used on labeling lines, plus hot melts for secondary packaging (case and tray).
Send bottle type, label stock, line speed, and wash-off needs with the sample request.
Envelopes and direct mail
Envelope manufacturing and direct-mail converting fold into this page.
Example product number: 8297 — remoisten-able; envelope front seal (water-based page). Remoisten-able and related dispersions are part of the water-based line.
Tape and label
Tape and label converting: industrial tapes, roll label stock, and heat-seal transfer constructions. We coat pressure-sensitive hot melts, acrylics, and heat-seal hot melts onto papers and films.
Widths, cores, and constructions are documented on tapes and films. PSA chemistry detail: water-based adhesive and the pressure-sensitive product family.
Heat seal and barrier (packaging uses)
Heat seal adhesives are coated on paper, film, nonwoven, or foil and dried; the bond forms when heat reactivates them — in-line or offline. Packaging uses include flexible packaging, lidding, and blister. Food-packaging heat seals can be formulated to FDA 21 CFR 175.105 (indirect food additives).
Examples already on the heat-seal product page: 8240 (food packaging, non-blocking); HS410 (EVA heat seal film, FDA 175.105). Cap-liner hot melts for induction seal and torque seal are listed on the hot-melt page.
Barrier coatings on paper, paperboard, or corrugated block water, moisture vapor, oil, and grease for packs such as sugar and flour bags, protein corrugated, cheese foils, and fast-food carton board. Grade numbers and the coating FDA citations are on barrier coatings — this packaging page does not restate those coating claims.
