A barrier coating on paper, paperboard, or corrugated blocks water, moisture vapor, oil, and grease. MVTR (moisture vapor transmission rate) is how we talk about that holdout. Food and moisture-sensitive packs use it for shelf life. Construction uses related coatings for water resistance.
Ours are 100% water-based, no VOCs, and can be formulated to FDA 21 CFR 176.170 and 176.180, BfR, and direct food contact. Fiber Box Association recyclability protocol is listed for these coatings. Low, medium, or high viscosity. Rod coater or printing press.
