How to choose heat-seal characteristics from competing application technologies
Gravure lacquers, water dispersions, and 100% solids extrusion or hot melt do not seal the same. Use the ranges, then trial on the sealer you run.

Heat-seal coats are applied as 100% solids (gravure or extrusion hot melt), solvent lacquers (vinyl or gel), water dispersions (EVA, EAA), water emulsions (PVDC), or 100% solids extrusion resins (EMAC, LDPE, EMA ionomer). Seal conditions in this comparison: ½ second, 30 psi, across the temperature range. Coat weights: 4–8 lb/ream (6–12 g/m²).
