Cattie Adhesives introduced a metallocene hot-melt line for packaging and case, tray, and carton sealing. Plants across North America already run it on food and beverage packaging.
Compared with traditional EVA hot melt, these grades are built for pot-life stability, clear color, and heat resistance, with less charring and odor. Service range is about −40°F to 160°F. They are meant for coated stocks and high-recycled board, with hot tack to limit pop-opens on high-memory board.
Metallocene hot melt is lower density than EVA. Published claims 20–30% less adhesive usage versus EVA, which is why plants look at it for mileage and less downtime on the pot.
