How to understand the fundamentals of paper sizing technology
Sizing is how a mill controls how fast water, ink, or coating soaks into paper. Cobb and edgewick tell you if you added enough. Call 800-249-0337 for a barrier or converting grade.
Sizing is not a Cattie adhesive. It is mill chemistry that makes paper resist water, ink, or coating penetration. Converters still need it: a slack-sized sheet drinks adhesive; a hard-sized sheet can starve the glue line.
